filtered

We experience the world through the filters of our own beliefs, values, and attitudes, each shaping how we perceive and interpret what surrounds us. In this series, colour filters become a means of transforming perception, inviting the viewer to question the relationship between what is seen and what is felt, between appearance and reality.

I use block prints to explore the illusion of depth and dimension through the interplay of marks, colour, and form. Although the images exist on a two-dimensional surface, they evoke the suggestion of three-dimensional space, blurring the boundaries between the tangible and the imagined. Forms that appear solid may dissolve into illusion, revealing the fragility of perception itself. What we see is not always what exists; sometimes, what seems present is merely a construction of the mind.
